About this event
Every day countless people join the ranks of the nearly 65 million Americans who are providing unpaid care to family members or friends. It is hard not to get overwhelmed when juggling life, work and caregiving responsibilities. This presentation will give you the tools to organize the tasks that need to be done while simultaneously managing a serious illness and keeping up with life. Lynda Shrager is a nationally recognized Occupational Therapist (OTR) with a master’s degree in social work (MSW) and is a Certified Aging in Place Specialist (CAPS). She returns to SNC with her new program, “The Organized Care Giver.”
Lynda is the CEO of At Home for Life. Occupational Therapy practices the art of taking seemingly overwhelming tasks and breaking them down into smaller, more manageable sub-tasks. Social Work practices the art of empowering people to draw from their inner strengths to overcome adversity. Lynda has practiced in the medical field of geriatric rehabilitation for over 35years, and the last 14 have been working with patients and their families in the home care arena. Lynda’s mission is simple yet powerful: to give people the tools, knowledge, and confidence they need to live life on their terms – with safety, independence, and peace of mind. This program is FREE, open to the public, and generously funded by the Prince of Peace Grace Endowment Fund and will be held at the Christ Community Reformed Church, 1010 Route 146, Clifton Park. Registration is required.
